Botox - Dysport - Xeomin

Your Botulinum toxin A (Botox ®, Dysport ®, Xeomin ®) Treatment Can:

Reduce facial lines, such as crow’s feet, frown lines and more
Restore a more youthful and relaxed appearance
Help to prevent the development of further wrinkles

Botulinum toxin A (Botox ®, Dysport ®, Xeomin ®) attaches to the targeted muscles and prevents them from contracting. The muscles remain relaxed and wrinkles are smoothed out. Treatment is very comfortable, resulting in minimal downtime. Bruising is possible, but is usually mild and resolves soon after treatment. Results are seen in 3 to 14 days after treatment. The treatment lasts for 3-4 months.

Treatment of Facial Lines

Wrinkles result from a combination of many factors. Repetitive use of the muscles, genetics, sun damage, smoking and stress all contribute to our appearance. Facial muscles are used for both making expressions, such as smiling, and also functionally, to speak, eat and drink. The goal of treatment with Botulinum toxin A (Botox ®, Dysport ®, Xeomin ®) is to maintain function while relaxing the creases that develop as we express ourselves over the years. The goal is to look relaxed, not frozen.

Crow’s Feet Treatment

For the crow’s feet area, the muscle that frames the side of the eye is injected several times.

Injecting Botulinum toxin A (Botox ®, Dysport ®, Xeomin ®) into the muscles that cause crow’s feet lines temporarily reduces the activity of these muscles. The result is smoother skin around the eyes.

Frown Line Treatment

For the frown lines area, several injections are placed into the muscles that bring the medial brows down and in. Injecting Botulinum toxin A (Botox ®, Dysport ®, Xeomin ®) into these muscles results in a lift and opens up this area, creating a less angry and tired look.

When will I notice the results?

Botulinum toxin A (Botox ®, Dysport ®, Xeomin ®) takes several days to bind to the muscles and results are seen from 2-14 days after treatment. It may take up to 2 weeks to see the maximum benefits of the treatment.

Does the treatment hurt?

Discomfort is minimal, as the needles are tiny. Most people require no anesthesia. Ice may be used before treatment to numb the area.

How long does the treatment take?

Photos are taken prior to the treatment and Dr. Shternfeld will discuss any concerns you may have. The treatment takes several minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated.

Will I look myself after treatment?

The goal of aesthetic treatments is to allow the patient to look their best, not waxen and swollen. Dr.Shternfeld’s goal is for patients to look relaxed and younger, while retaining their own unique facial features.

When can I return to my normal routine?

Treatment requires minimal downtime for recovery. It is often called a lunchtime procedure. You’ll be able to go back to your normal routine once treatment is completed. No heavy exercise or other activities that involve perspiring should be performed for at least four hours after treatment. Patients should remain upright for 4 hours and not rub their face after treatment.

What are the cost considerations?

The cost for the treatment includes the price of the product, but more importantly, the skill and expertise of the specialist or healthcare professional who is administering your treatment. It depends on the amount of areas treated and how much product is used. Dr. Shternfeld will be happy to tell you the cost for your services, after you receive a consultation.
