“LET YOUR INNER GLOW SHINE!”
Selphyl PRP (platelet rich plasma) is a completely natural, minimally invasive rejuvenating treatment. Some of its benefits are:
Reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Improvement of skin moisture and tone
Reduction of facial redness, acne and appearance of acne scars
PRP has been used for over 20 years by orthopedic surgeons and dentists to help promote healing. A small amount of blood is drawn and then spun in a centrifuge. The PRP, also known as “yellow gold”, separates out. It contains multiple growth factors, that promote healing and stimulate collagen formation.
The face and hands can be treated to restore volume loss and improve texture. Multiple conditions, such as wrinkles around the lips, facial redness due to rosacea, reduction of large pore size, reduction of under eye circles, acne and acne scars are addressed with this therapy. PRP can be done alone or in conjunction with microneedling, which is known as the Vampire Facial, to further improve the appearance of your skin, particularly for acne.
No allergic reactions have been reported. Downtime and discomfort are minimal, with mild swelling for 2-4 days after the procedure and mild bruising possible at the injection sight. The treated areas are numbed with topical cream prior to injection and discomfort is very mild. The procedure takes about 45 minutes, including numbing time.
Treatment of Under Eye Hollows
Skin around the eyes is the thinnest in the body and often the first area to show signs of aging. This creates a tired appearance.
Selphyl Platelet Rich Plasma and dermal fillers, such as Restylane, can be used as minimally invasive treatments to improve the appearance of this area. Loss of cheek volume from the downward progression and atrophy of the malar fat pads significantly contributes to the prominence of tear troughs. Restoring volume in the cheeks with fillers, like Juvederm Voluma, greatly improves the appearance of the under eye area..
Acne & Acne Scar Treatment
Acne is a very common skin problem , affecting people of all ages, and often resulting in unsightly scarring.
The Lumenis M22 IPL and Selphyl PRP, in conjunction with microneedling, can be used to treat this difficult problem. PRP improves skin texture, reducing redness and pore size. The Lumenis M22 IPL has a specific acne filter to treat the inflammatory acne stages, reducing redness. It also successfully treats acne scars, greatly reducing uneven skin tone.
Dermal fillers, such as Juvederm, can be used to fill in the volume loss caused by deep scarring.
How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments needed depends on each individual patient, the desired outcome, and the doctor’s treatment plan.
Does the treatment hurt?
Unlike other products that are acidic (low pH), Selphyl® PRFM has close to physiologic pH. There may be some temporary discomfort during the injections. Like all injection procedures, one can experience occasional redness and bruising immediately following the treatment that resolves quickly.
How long does the treatment take?
The entire procedure takes about 30 minutes to perform in the doctor’s office.
Will I look myself after treatment?
The goal of aesthetic treatments is to allow the patient to look their best, not waxen and swollen. Dr.Shternfeld’s goal is for patients to look relaxed and younger, while retaining their own unique facial features.
Are there any side effects?
There have been no known side effects associated with Selphyl® reported to date. As with any injectable procedure, some patients may experience some mild and temporary irritation, swelling, bruising, itching, discoloration or tenderness at the injection site.
What are the cost considerations?
The cost for the treatment includes the price of the product, but more importantly, the skill and expertise of the specialist or healthcare professional who is administering your treatment. It depends on the amount of areas treated and how much product is used. Dr. Shternfeld will be happy to tell you the cost for your services, after you receive a consultation.
